fabric
I’m going to start painting and reupholstering this chair I bought a while ago..
I’ve been pottering around on the internet this morning trying to decide what to do with it. I’m drawn to lots of floral fabrics, but I don’t want it to look too fussy. I like the simple, elegant ticking fabrics too, so this is probably what I’m going to go with. I’m thinking green or red fabric with white/cream paint for the chair. The main thing that concerns me about stripes is making sure they don’t look wonky! I’m sure it will be fine..

I think a good rummage around some fabric shops is in order!
Furniture restoration – Chest of drawers
It’s finally finished! Ok, so it was finished quite a while ago and I’ve just been putting off lugging it into the house to be photographed..
I picked up this chest of drawers a few months back, it was a perfect case for painting; lovely shaped legs and raised detailing.. and a hideous shade of orange! Here’s the before:

New purchase…
I’m currently working on a chest of drawers, but I couldn’t resist buying this chair I saw in a charity shop.. It’s already looking quite at home nestled in the dining room!
It has such pretty turned legs and carved flowers, I can’t wait to see how it looks when it’s painted. I’m also very excited about trying out a bit of upholstery. There’s not really anything wrong with the green covering, but I think it could look better.
The Plant Table
I really love eBay, it’s such a fantastic cheap resource for furniture items that no one wants because they look a bit sad and beaten up. Luckily not everyone has my optimism for what a bit of paint and attention can do so I picked this little plant stand up for a grand total of £9.50. A short drive to the lovely village of Snitterfield (fantastic name) and we’re on the way home with a new project!
